Pastor
Dorrett Small
Dorrett Small was born in Jamaica W.I. and got saved at an early age of eight. She was then baptized at the age of fourteen. Dorrett was inspired by her mother’s salvation and followed in her righteous example. As Dorrett grew, she embarked on a career as an educator, volunteering in her church, travelling to sing solos at neighboring churches and through extensive work with the youth in her community. On her travels to a neighboring church, Dorrett met her late husband Reverend Dr. Basil J Small; one could say it was love at first sight four months after their first meeting.
Dorrett and Basil married. Through this union the couple had three children Kerridene and Judene both born in Jamaica W.I and upon migrating to the U.S.A the couple had their third child Basil Joel. While raising her family and assisting her husband in the ministry, Dorrett Small received Masters in Literacy and became a tenured teacher for the department of education.
Many, who know Dorrett, knew she was called to the ministry, especially her husband. In 2009, Dorrett was appointed as the Associate Pastor of Trinity Pentecostal Deliverance Tabernacle and shortly after the passing of her husband the Founder and Host Pastor of TPDT she was appointed as the new Host Pastor.
Throughout her life, Rev Small has been an unyielding believer that prayer, dedication and devotion to God will provide the support for every obstacle the world passes her way. God will never give you more than you can manage. She travelled near and far preaching the word of God.
Dorrett is currently pursuing a second Masters Degree in Theology to strengthen her zeal to be a servant of God. Through God’s grace Dorrett has experienced the love of a wonderful husband and of loving and energetic children. Dorrett continues to hold on to the higher calling of God for as her favorite scripture states “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians. 4:13).
